01Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Tap Havoc ("we", "us") handles information in connection with our mobile game SWISH for Android (the "Game"). Tap Havoc is a brand of XSECTION PTY LTD. Our website is taphavoc.com.
The Game does not use accounts, and we do not run our own servers for it. Information leaves your device only through the Google services described below: Google Analytics for Firebase, and Google AdMob with Google's User Messaging Platform.
02Information and Data
Information stored on your device
The Game stores your best score in each mode (ARCADE, TIME TRIAL and PERFECT), the mode you last selected, your settings (sound, vibration and the ANALYTICS setting) and a count of runs played (used to pace ads) locally on your device. This information stays on your device and is removed when you clear the Game's data or uninstall it.
Information you give us
We do not ask you to create an account or to enter your name or email address to play. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message, and we use it only to respond to you.
Information processed by Google services
Depending on your settings, your region and your consent choices (see sections 3 to 5), the Google services used by the Game may process:
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and country;
- app activity, such as app opens, sessions, engagement time and ads shown;
- identifiers, such as the Firebase app instance ID and, for advertising by Google AdMob, the Android advertising ID;
- approximate location derived from your IP address.
The Game does not request access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location.
03Analytics
The Game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Game is used, so we can fix problems and improve the Game. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.
When Analytics is active
- Outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Analytics is on by default.
- In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Analytics stays off unless you allow analytics storage in Google's consent message (see section 5).
- Analytics does not start until Google's consent service has provided a decision. The first time you play, the Game asks Google's consent service when it starts, and if that check cannot be completed (for example because you are offline), Analytics stays off for that session. On later launches, the decision stored on your device is used.
- Wherever you are, you can turn Analytics off with the ANALYTICS setting in the Game's settings menu (see "The ANALYTICS setting" below).
What the Game sends to Analytics
When Analytics is active, the Game records one event of its own:
- interstitial_shown: a full-screen ad was shown.
The Game does not send your scores, shots or other gameplay details to Analytics. Google Analytics for Firebase also automatically records standard information, such as app opens, sessions and engagement time, together with the Firebase app instance ID and the device and app information listed in section 2.
Advertising signals in Analytics
Advertising ID collection by Google Analytics for Firebase is disabled. Ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are set to denied for Analytics by default. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, they are updated only from your choices in Google's consent message. Elsewhere, they stay denied.
The ANALYTICS setting
- The ANALYTICS setting shows ON only when Analytics is actually active.
- Turning it OFF stops Analytics collection and resets the Firebase analytics data and app instance ID stored on your device. It does not delete analytics data that Google has already received (see section 11 to request deletion).
- When you turn it OFF, it stays off across app restarts and updates, and it takes priority over any consent you give in Google's consent message, until you turn it back on yourself.
- In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, if the setting shows OFF because analytics storage has not been allowed, tapping it opens PRIVACY OPTIONS, where you can change your choices in Google's consent message.
Crash reporting
The Game does not include a separate crash reporting service.
04Advertising
The Game shows full-screen interstitial ads between runs, provided by Google AdMob. Ads are not shown during your first few runs, and are limited in how often they appear. The Game does not show banner ads or offer rewarded ads.
Google AdMob may use device information, the Android advertising ID and approximate location to deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and, where permitted and where you have agreed if consent is required, show personalised ads. Even when ads are not personalised, Google may still process limited information to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
05Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the Game uses Google's User Messaging Platform to show Google's European regulations consent message. Your choices in this message decide:
- whether Analytics may use analytics storage. If you do not allow it, Analytics stays off;
- the ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation signals passed to Google Analytics for Firebase;
- how Google AdMob may use your data for ads.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with PRIVACY OPTIONS in the Game's settings menu. If you withdraw consent for analytics storage, Analytics stops, and the Firebase analytics data and app instance ID stored on your device are reset. Turning the ANALYTICS setting OFF always keeps Analytics off, whatever you choose in Google's consent message.
06In-App Purchases
The Game does not currently offer any in-app purchases. The app includes Google's Play Billing library, which is why Google Play may list billing among the app's permissions, but the Game does not start it and does not receive or process any purchase or payment information. If we add purchases in a future version, we will update this policy first.
07Third-Party Services
The Game uses these Google services:
- Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics)
- Google AdMob (advertising) and Google's User Messaging Platform (consent)
These services process information under Google's own terms and privacy policies, and Google may process it in countries other than yours. See the Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Firebase privacy information.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
08Children's Privacy
The Game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us at privacy@taphavoc.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
09Data Retention
Information stored on your device stays there until you clear the Game's data or uninstall it. Analytics event and user data received by Google is kept for the data retention period set for the Game's Google Analytics property, which is no longer than 14 months. Advertising information is kept according to Google's policies. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable record-keeping.
10Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information handled in connection with the Game. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Information handled by Google services is protected according to Google's security practices.
11Your Choices
- ANALYTICS setting: turn Analytics off at any time in the Game's settings menu. It stays off across restarts and updates until you turn it back on.
- PRIVACY OPTIONS: in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, change or withdraw the choices you made in Google's consent message from the Game's settings menu.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your Android device settings. The exact location varies by device, but it is usually under Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads.
- Stop all collection: uninstalling the Game stops all collection by the Game.
- Your rights: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. To make a request, including deleting analytics data Google has already received, email privacy@taphavoc.com. Because the Game does not use accounts, we may need information from you to locate any relevant data. Some data is held directly by Google under its own policies.
- Complaints: you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
12Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date above.
